Trap Neuter Return

Step One: Trap

Once cats have been identified, our team goes out to humanely trap using covered cages with food and nets when necessary. Locals are always informed when trapping has begun to keep your pets indoors and identifying photos are shared with the public in case someone's cat has made their way into a trap.

Step Two: Neuter

Cats who have been successfully trapped are then taken to local animal hospitals and low cost spay and neuter clinics to receive vaccinations, deworming, and neuter/spray treatment to eliminate excess reproduction. Each cat is then allocated enough time to recover with safety and comfort.

Step Three: Return/Rehome

Once the cats have recovered from their treatment, they are on their way home! Ferals are returned to their colonies to live in their familiar environment and community while tame strays are taken to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society or a trusted sanctuary in NJ for adoption.
