HOW IT BEGAN

What was a very much needed new beginning for my daughters, Nanala, Ella and Tessa, our rescued dogs, Henrietta, Robert DeNero and Oldwin Blue, and our rescued cats, Lily, Nahla, Pearl and Rustyn, and our tortoise, Kenai, turned into one of the most truly meaningful adventures for us. We realized right away there was a large street cat population when I bought my house and moved to Walton at the end of July 2025. For a few months I kept trying to figure out what I could do to help. When I read about how bad the situation was for many of these street cats in our local newspaper and on social media, I reached out to the Village of Walton Mayor. He asked me if I could present what I could offer to help to the Village Board meeting in October 2025. So, Walton Kindness for Cats began. Never did I believe this idea would turn into what it is today. Whether we are doing TNR, helping a injured or sick street cat receive vet care, giving a dying street cat the love they deserve in their last moments, helping tame strays find a furever home, we are always filled with much compassion and gratitude for the work we are able to provide.
OUR MISSION
A Feline Future
Our mission is to humanely manage and improve the lives of Walton’s community cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), responsible colony care, and compassionate intervention. We are committed to stabilizing feral cat populations, maintaining healthy colonies, helping socialized strays find safety and loving homes through shelters and sanctuaries, and ensuring sick or injured community cats receive timely veterinary care. Through education, outreach, and assistance with spay/neuter and microchipping of resident’s own cats, we empower residents to coexist peacefully with community cats while promoting humane, long-term solutions.
A Public Thank You
Thanks to the community's contributions as of May 2026, Walton Kindness For Cats has successfully provided for approximately 200 cats in the Walton area.
